| Welcome to Kawkawlin Township!
Kawkawlin Township was organized on January 7, 1868, becoming
the sixth township of Bay County. It was created from the northeast
portion of Bangor Township.
Alexander Baird was the first supervisor of Kawkawlin Township
being named to this position in April 1868.
The Native American name for Kawkawlin is U GU H KON NING or
"place of pike fish".
